L&D is Important! But why?

The performance of an employee depends on many factors such as Job satisfaction, knowledge, and effective management, however, we must note that there is a relationship between training and performance (Chris,2010).

This shows that employee performance is important for the organization's growth and L&D is important for employees to increase their performance. Ø  Boosting Employee Productivity and Performance

Training programs that are proper and up-to-date will increase the productivity of the employees. To increase their level of competence, ability, and confidence, organizations can close skills, knowledge, and performance gaps by providing them with innovative ideas, best practices, and capabilities that they can practice in their jobs. Which will result in a workforce who can make better decisions, and work smarter and more efficiently.

Ø  Return on Investment (ROI)

By considering L&D as a strategic priority of the organization, and putting it into practice with concern and purpose, any employer can get the benefit from measurable ROI. It can be measured by calculating the impact and ROI, for both qualitative and quantitative. It is important to evaluate L&D as an investment, not a cost, and to use L&D for the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Ø  Increase Employee Satisfaction, Retention and Engagement

When employers invest their capital in L&D the employees feel more attached, appreciated, liable, motivated, and part of the team. It has been reflected that investing in L&D has had a positive influence and has helped grow employees' sense of loyalty while decreasing staff turnover. Not only that but also L&D programs provide opportunities such as team building, mentoring sessions with experts and most importantly employees get that the chance to meet new employees.  L&D toll is used to bridge knowledge and skill gaps, but at the same time, it is also being used as a method of rewarding employees who are high-potentials, and high-achievers. Since employees feel more motivated and satisfied with the L&D initiatives employees will retain within the organization and work towards its success.

Ø  Helps Develop and Nurture Future Leaders

It is important to develop and nurture potential leaders for the future growth and development of any organization. Thus, providing adequate learning and development opportunities for the employees is essential to build potential leaders for the future whether they are selected within the organization or from outside. Having a proper L&D plan will always help an organization to prepare their employees to become talents who can take on leadership roles with new responsibilities and lead a team to fulfill the company objectives.
